September 2010

Boy time flies. Another month without posting on my Blog. Sigh...
Here's what we've been up to.
Hanging out with goofy cousins.

Fine dining!

Kelsey is learning to feed herself. Messy, messy, messy!

Some back seat driving.

Kelsey has discovered bubble baths and loves them.

A little gardening.

Helping Mommy with the dishes.

The Downside of Home Ownership

So our lovely house seems to be falling apart. We have to replace the tiles in both upstairs bathrooms and kitchen because of cracking grout and tiles and we also had a pinhole leak in our copper pipes which left a moldy mess in the roof in our downstairs bathroom. Ugh!

My lovely ensuite bathroom.

Our guest/kid's bathroom. Notice the horrible fact that the plumber had to break through a shower tile to get to the pipes.

Our downstairs bathroom ceiling. Anyone feel like doing a bit of drywalling?

This is where you have to take a bath when both bathtubs in the house are currently storing toilets. Garrett and Kelsey didn't seem to mind.

Fun in the Sun!

What is summertime all about?
Sharing freezies with Daddy.

Eating carrots from Mommy's garden with Austin.

Hanging out in our new bouncy castle with Mommy.

Acting like a scary dragon. Or at least laughing at Austin acting like a scary dragon.

A naked ride on a slip and slide.

Climbing anything you can.

Hanging out with family.

Kelsey's Birthday Bash

We had a small family birthday party to celebrate Kelsey's first birthday. It was a great night and we thank everyone for coming and for all of the lovely cards and thoughtful gifts.

Our beautiful little Kelsey.

Every birthday wouldn't be complete without some party games.

You've got to love an uncle who comes over and totally tires out the kids. Thanks Uncle Dean!

The birthday girl enjoying a visit with Grandma.

Good food was enjoyed by all!

Kelsey and Aunty Meghan checking out her cake.

Cousin Cruz doing two things he loves to do best...climbing and eating.

Kelsey loves her new gifts!

Now to top off a great evening Uncle Dean presented Garrett with a box of Hot Wheel cars and a car transporter (that he was given from Aunty Meg's Uncle). He couldn't have been happier and has played with them every free moment he's had since then.

Kelsey's First Birthday!

We can't believe that our little girl is already one! Here are a few shots of her big day.

Thanks Gran for stopping by with the birthday cookies. They were a big hit.

Kelsey loved the candle on her cake but that was about all she liked about it. It was quickly launched and ended up on the floor. I can't believe that any child of mine could reject chocolate. The poor girl didn't just reject the cake but ended up throwing up everything she'd eaten and more before she went to bed. Poor thing.

Palm Springs and Disneyland

We spent a great week in a very hot Palm Springs with Grandpa Leo, Grandma Sharon, Aunty Lori, Uncle Matt and cousins Austin and Cruz. I was surprised that Cary and I didn't take more photos but I'll share some of the ones we did take.

Kelsey's not walking yet but is able to pull herself up to standing without holding on to anything. It won't be long now.

Checking out the animals at the Living Desert.

Garrett, Austin, Cruz and Kelsey sharing some books and enjoying an air conditioned room.

Cary and I decided to drive the kids to Disneyland for the day and are really glad we did. We all had a great time. Garrett fixated on meeting Mickey Mouse (who he calls Missy Mouse) so we were happy that we found him. He hid on my shoulder the whole time and then when we left him he wanted to see him again.

I'm not sure who is having more fun, Daddy or Garrett??

Kelsey was able to go on all of the rides with us except for Autopia. She loved them all. This is her enjoying "It's a Small World".

Daddy, I mean Kelsey, got Mickey Mouse ears! We tried and tried to convince Garrett that he wanted them too but it was a no go.

Our first family photo at the entrance of Disneyland. I wonder how many of these we will collect over the year?

During the day we took Garrett on Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, It's a Small World, Autopia and about 5 others. When asked at the end of the day what his favourite ride was, the answer (to our horror!!!): parking lot shuttle bus. AHHHHHHH!!!!!

Kelsey has become a major food thrower and when you give her heck she thinks it's funny. Grrrrr...

Playland

We had a great day at Playland. Garrett loved the rides and after some initial nervousness even went on a few by himself. Kelsey loved watching everything going on around her and got to enjoy a few rides too.

Garrett's first solo car ride.

Kelsey's couldn't have been more excited to participate.

Loving the slide with friends Megan and Daniel.

A helicopter ride with Daddy.

Bonus shot of our happy girl.
