Highlights of December 2013 - April 2014

It's been awhile.  Photos are super disorganized but I've got some cute ones.  Here's what we've been up to.

Christmas!  Yikes!  It was great but happened a million years ago.

Christmas eve dinner and Aunty Meghan's and Uncle Dean's place.  Yum!

Gran bought Quinn his first motorized vehicle.  Look out!

Quinn didn't make a peep the whole walk to school.  This is what I found when I got there and finally took a look at him.  Poor little dude.

The kids loving the rare snow which only shows itself a few times a year.  Quinn wasn't a fan so I'll spare the photos of him crying and trying to get back into the house.

I have to give Grandma Debbie credit for the last two photos.  Sledding fun!

 Happy 6th Birthday!

We had Garrett's party in the Lynn Valley School gym.  We wore the kids out playing dodgeball.

Quinn had his first haircut and wasn't a fan.  I can't believe that the lady was able to cut it.  He spent most of the time under the steering wheel.

Kelsey likes to be the entertainment when we have company for dinner.  This time Shannon, Bradley and Madeline enjoyed the show.

Quinn loves his bubbles.  Actually, right now it's the only way we can get him into the bath.

Too much technology in this household.

Kelsey continued her Friday dance lesson until April.  We're taking a break now and she's enjoying gymnastics instead.

Spending way too much money at Costco.  Where's Kelsey?

We finally finished doing an expensive reno of our downstairs bathroom.  Quinn really likes Daddy's new shower.  He disappeared for a bit one day and this is where I found him.  Strange kid.

Spring break.  Making the best of the weather in Deep Cove.

Both kids have new bikes and are loving riding.  Garrett would ride all day if we let him.

Rocks.  What boy doesn't love rocks?

Having a blast snowshoeing with Gran.

Well that's a quick summary.  The kids are growing up so fast.  Quinn turned two April 4th and is a very sweet and easygoing little guy.  He is still saying very little but we all know what he wants.  Everything is Momma or Dadda.  He also likes to snort (pig) and moo and has just added a very cute 'Uh-oh.'  It's fun to ask him questions like who drooled all over the couch or tossed his food on the floor as his answer is always, "Dadda."  Daddy gets blamed for everything.

The Love of Dance

Kelsey just finished a great session of dance.  She had a very small class, a talented teacher, and got to attempt some hip hop, tap, ballet, and jazz dance.  Watching her was a highlight of my week.  The tough part was keeping Quinn quiet and entertained while he watched his sister dance for 45 minutes every Friday morning.  That posed quite a challenge and cost a lot of money in smoothie bribes.  Her teacher held a little recital and grandparents were invited.  A big thanks to everyone that attended.  You coming to watch made her feel really special.

Soccer

Garrett's really been enjoying soccer this year.  He's got an amazing coach who has been teaching the boys some great skills.  We are so impressed with how much he's learned and how well he is doing.  I can't get over how grown up he looks in these photos.

Halloween 2013

The kids had a blast this Halloween.  They loved every part of it.  It's December and they are still eating their loot.  A big thanks to Grandma Debbie and Michelle for the delicious dinner and for answering the door.  We also always love our halloween visit from Uncle Dean, Aunty Meghan, and Bella.

Pumpkin carving went better than last year.  Garrett still wasn't a fan of the gunk but helped out a bit.  He got a case of the grumps, however, when he decided that Kelsey's pumpkin drawing looked better than his.

Kelsey loved every part of it.  She got her hands dirty, helped me pick out pumpkin seeds to roast, and carved it.  The pumpkins turned out great but I forgot to take a darn photo of them.

Our little witch.  This was the day we bought the costume.  She didn't end up wearing the hat.

Quinn loved running around the mall while the kids trick-or-treated.  This is his favourite pal by the library who he loves to pat and kiss every time he sees him.

The cousins joined us for the evening.

Some people on our street go all out on Halloween.  Kelsey loved the displays.  The scarier the better.  We had 160 ghouls and goblins at our door this year.

Funny Quinn Shots

I downloaded 600 iphone photos last week and found some funny ones that go back to the summer.  I'll feature Quinn in this overdue post.

Not quite right yet but better than when he was wearing them over his mouth.

Cheese face.  Makes me laugh every time.

How can something be so bad yet so good at the same time?

Spiderman looking for bad guys.  Unfortunately he can't figure out the binoculars.

Just calling his pals on his cell while stealing money from Daddy's wallet.

So hard to be cool surrounded in pink and girly things.

Yummy!

Leafy fun!

Vacuuming drool.  So gross...

Hanging out and watching his big bro playing soccer on a really wet rainy day.
