Grouse Mountain

Grandma Judy, Garrett, Kelsey and I spent a great day up Grouse Mountain. We visited the grizzly bears who have recently awaken from hibernation and were putting on quite a show for their guests.

Garrett hiding behind Grandma. The fence sure didn't look like enough protection between us and the grizzly bear.

Garrett and Grandma hitched a ride on a snowmobile.
Kelsey's first feel (and taste) of snow. She loved it!

Outdoor School

We spent a great day at North Vancouver Outdoor School's Open House. To our delight the rain held off until we were leaving. Garrett got to visit a farm, fish hatchery, and Bighouse all in one place. Even with all of the great things to see his favourite part was throwing rocks in the river. Kelsey was a real champ and took it all in from the backpack smiling and waving everywhere she went.

Kelsey all bundled up and ready for the day.

Garrett in his element.

He would have stayed here for hours. It took some tricky negotiating to get him to leave.

Easter long weekend

Well it has been a great Easter weekend. Lots of visiting with family and a few disagreements over how many chocolate eggs a two year old should eat before breakfast.

Garrett's first attempt at colouring eggs. It looks all well and good but this peaceful moment ended abruptly when Garrett had a meltdown because I took his egg out of the blue dye. Sigh...

A nice snuggle and story with Grandma and Grandpa.

Garrett's first Easter egg hunt. He caught on quickly and celebrated every egg he found.

We had a great walk through Lynn Canyon. Garrett hiked over the suspension bridge, up and down stairs, over big rocks and through lots of mud. He was rewarded with some water and a large quantity of good throwing rocks at the end.

We had a yummy Easter dinner at Grandma Debbie's house.

Kelsey and Garrett squeezed in a lot of good play time.

We spent a fun afternoon at Science World where the kids played and enjoyed a Bobs and Lolo concert.

We ended the weekend with a quick trip to the park for a bike ride and Garrett's second try on the"big boy" swing. This is Austin trying to teach him to pump his legs.

Where's Kelsey?

Kelsey is always on the move these days. She doesn't like being held or tied down in her stroller or car seat. She doesn't want anything that we give her to play with but instead fixates on trying to get things we hide from her.

Garrett has been particularly affectionate when he wakes up these days. He wants to hold and kiss Kelsey which lasts for awhile until he tells me that it is time for "Baby to go night night".

Maui 2010

Well we're home from a great week in Maui. We spent lazy days at the beach, had fun at the pool, and took in a few sights around the island. Garrett could have spent every moment playing at the beach and even Kelsey found the sights and sounds entertaining. Here are a few captured moments.

On the Move

Well the kids have been busy getting into mischief. Kelsey doesn't stay still for a moment and gets into everything. She doesn't seem to want anything to do with her toys anymore and will wiggle her way across the livingroom to get hold of one of Garrett's trucks. (See the attached video) Garrett is talking up a storm which is great most of the time. My absolute favourite saying is, "I missed you Mommy." I could do without, "Go away!" and "Don't touch me!" Here is what we've been up to.

A little dress-up.

A little artwork.

A little fort building and toy hoarding.

A little reading.

Fighting a few fires.

Oh, and of course we went and saw the torch. Go Canada!

Poor Garrett. Nothing is safe on the floor anymore. He's learning quickly.

Bath Time With Garrett

Garrett's bath time games have certainly evolved over time.
First we had the "Escape Artist".
Then there was the "Contortionist".
Next came "Rubber Ducky Man".
Then we had the "Sports Addict".
And now we have "The Drummer".
